Maclin and his books

Since before Maclin was born, we have been reading to him. I used to sit in his nursery, dogs and cats following me (and sometimes Ward), rock in the rocker and "practice" reading books to the animals in hopes Maclin was listening. Part of my thinking was if I read a book enough times, I wouldn't cry when I read them to him. (Please note this did not work. Yesterday I read "Love You Forever" for the 1023rd time and I still cried.)

Now Maclin is addicited to his books. It's so sweet to watch him. He will crawl into his room and grab one of his favorites. He just sits there and turns the pages (usually two to three at a time), sometimes giggles, and then moves on to another one (or another project-he is only ten months!).

Some of Maclin's favorites books are:
"Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" - I don't even look at the pages anymore. "A told B and B told C........" ugh.
"Freight Train" - Maclin fusses when this one is over. Ward has this one down.
"Mutt Dog" - It is only appropriate we have a book about a mutt that is rescued and "every night when he goes to sleep, he knows where he belongs." T.E.A.R.
Any "Little Pookie" book (or Sandra Boynton book for that matter). He also likes "Happy Hippo/Angry Duck"

I hope he will continue this........

Our Easter Bunny

Maclin was very patient with me while I made him pose with bunny ears. At first it wasn't very fun, but in the end it was a great time.

My favorite part of the pictures is the giant power strip on the floor. That has been removed :o)

Maclin is 7 months!!!!

We have been terrible about posting pictures! To catch up our followers (all three of you), I will post some older pictures so you can see how big our little boy is getting. He is growing up so fast!

Maclin's first St. Patrick's Day. He partied hard by being over served milk and fruit. Crazy kid!

Maclin finding his feet. Now we can't keep him from playing with them. It makes changing a diaper a bit of a challenge. He also likes to suck on his toes......showoff!

Yes, we occasionally force him to do things he doesn't like. For example, wearing sunglasses inside for picture purposes. I know, bad parents.

One of my favorite things is watching Mac with Daddy. Mac thinks Ward is the funniest person ever! I do too :o)

Here is Maclin with his GG (Great Grandma Nelson). It is so wonderful to see him with GG. They always have fun. This picture was taken on March 20th, his baptism.

Bad Bad Blogger

Let's see....the last post was when Maclin was 2 months old. He is now 5 months old! I know, I'm bad. The good news is Ward gave me a new camera for Christmas (best husband ever!) and I have been practicing taking pictures. Needless to say, pictures are on the way!

2 Months Old!

Maclin is growing up so fast! In one month he gained three pounds and two inches! He is now a solid 12.4 lbs (75%) and 23" (50%) long. Mac is really starting to talk too. He coos and smiles more everyday. Nothing brings us more joy than to speak to him and have him smile in return-melts. your. heart.

Our little peanut has turned into our little nugget! Maclin is already 7 weeks old. He is sleeping  between 5-7 hours per night, he is starting to smile and he is truly a joy! Here are some pictures of our little nugget.

Maclin Robert Strahan

On September 22, 2010, our son Maclin was born. He was 8 lb 2 oz, 19 inches long and born at 9:34 am. Here are some pictures of when he was just a peanut.....

Our Perfect Day

Here are some pictures from our wedding. The torrential down pour we had earlier that day ended up bringing the perfect breeze for our ceremony. The afternoon ended up being pretty cool (especially since the forecast was calling for 94 degree temps!). We had so much fun and are so grateful for our friends and family that made it. Needless to say, we are very blessed. The pictures were taken by my friend Amy. Great shots girl!

The Rose garden at Loose Park. It was a little too wet to have the ceremony down there so we ended up under the pavillion instead.
